Bybit Year Three: Onwards & Upwards

As we prepare to celebrate our second anniversary on Dec. 1, we are truly humbled to have embarked on an epic ascent to the summit of the crypto derivatives space. It’s almost surreal that it was only a couple of years ago that Bybit was the new kid on the block navigating the industry’s ups and downs. Our platform has grown remarkably since, as evidenced by more than one million registered users ever since our launch in December 2018.

As always, we are continuously looking for ways to enhance the services we provide at Bybit as we head into our third year. We are pleased to announce several new products and features to improve our value proposition further and push crypto derivatives trading to the next level.

Bybit will incorporate Quarterly Futures contracts and Sub-Accounts while integrating with the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) foreign exchange trading platform.

Quarterly Futures on Bybit

The newly introduced BTCUSD Quarterly Futures contracts allow traders to buy or sell an underlying asset at a predetermined price at a specific date in the future.

At the launch on Nov. 30, 2020, two contracts will be offered — BTCUSD1225, settling on Dec. 25, 2020, and BTCUSD0326, settling on March 26, 2021.

Three further contracts — BTCUSD0625, BTCUSD0924, and BTCUSD1224 — will list on Dec. 11, 2020, March 12, 2021, and June 11, 2021, and settle on June 25, Sept. 24, and Dec. 24, 2021, respectively.

There are no funding fees required for Quarterly Futures contracts. As long as the contracts are still in force, traders may retain their positions free of charge. Capital is drawn from the BTCUSD perpetual contracts Insurance Fund to cover users’ negative equity on Quarterly Futures contracts, thus eliminating the need for auto-deleveraging (ADL). Traders can utilize one-way or hedge mode, with locked positions exempt from liquidation.

Quoted in USD but settled in BTC, Quarterly Futures have a risk limit base value of 150 BTC, a maximum order size of 1,000,000, and up to 100x leverage available.

We are also thrilled to introduce Sub-Accounts for our retail and institutional customers. Sub-Accounts are bound to a primary account and may represent different traders or trading strategies, facilitating a more integrated trading experience and diversified approach. Institutional clients can use Sub-Accounts to provide managed access and limited control over their main account to individuals under their employment.

MetaTrader 4 Integration

MetaTrader 4 is a white-label trading platform that includes comprehensive technical analysis, a versatile trading framework, and algorithmic trading tools typically used by Forex traders. With this MT4 integration, we endeavor to provide users with a richer end-to-end experience, enabling forex traders to delve into crypto and easily diversify their portfolios.

Thank you to all our loyal users and supporters who have made these three years a resounding success. We’ve got more surprises in store for our users as we look to end the year with a bang!
